Remedies for the Spirit

Hard Times

Hard times to teach one gratitude for family, friends, and health;

            Hard times to count one’s blessings redefining wealth.

A need to think of others; a need to travel back

            To humbler times of life when lass was more, not lack.

Hard times to touch the spirit, hoping it will see

            The truth within the words, “the best in life is free.”

A need to feel God’s blessings in a wise and worthy way

            Like helping those with less, bestowed in one more day.

Hard times to teach one gratitude for family, friends, and health;

            Hard times to count one’s blessings redefining wealth.

A need to reset values; a need to journey back

            To modest times of life when less was more, not lack.

Hard times to touch the spirit, hoping it will see

            The truth within the words, “the best in life is free.”

A need to feel God’s blessings in a wise and worthy way

            Like time with those you love, bestowed in one more day.
